Landscape is the main inspiration for my artistic practice and, in particular, the East Anglian coast and countryside.

I’ve always felt a connection with the natural world and love the way the weather and seasons affect the sea, sky and landscape marking the passage of time.

I am especially drawn to the coast with its vast stretches of open space that extend away to the horizon giving me a sense of freedom and escape.

This environment also makes me realise how small and insignificant we are as individuals compared to the world around us and how nature is the stronger force.

I aim to capture these thoughts and feelings in my work to produce an emotive response in the viewer.

I completed a BA Fine Art degree at Stourbridge College of Art and Design in the 1980’s and am now studying for an MA in Fine Art at the Norwich School of Art and Design.
